Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie House 1. I've learned that FLW and HH Richardson had similar style which I thought was very interesting because both have designed buildings in Buffalo. And that Frank Lloyd Wright tried to convey organic architecture, his muse lying in nature. 2. There was a section in the chapter specifically about Frank Lloyd Wright. Like the video they discuss the prairie house design. 3. Again, the video was a little slow and not that interesting but I liked how they had a voice actor pretend he was Frank Lloyd Wright talking. 4. I chose to watch the FLW video because I knew that he designed a house in Buffalo and I used to drive passed it everyday to get to school and I wanted to learn more about him. Frank Gehry: Architecture as Art 1. Gehry uses paintings and sculptures into building forms. He uses them as muses for his buildings. He also makes it clear that art and architecture are both art but architecture is very different and set apart from the rest. I've also learned that architects look for ways to contribute to the sustainability on the planet. 2. Like the video in the chapter they discuss sustainability as well and how that is taken into consideration by certain architects. 3.I don't know what it is about these videos, maybe its because their old? But until now that hasn't bothered me. They're just very dry. There's not enough information maybe, but rather filler moments that seem unnecessary. 4. I chose this video because I can imagine many people don't think of architecture as an art form but it is! And I wanted to hear from an architect himself on why he believes its an art.
